Provide high level education and training to scientific and medical students, researchers and industry personnel in the field of age-related pathologies and in the management of biobanks and big data

General description

Cutting edge fundamental and translational research in the field of age-related pathologies can only be performed by highly qualified and well-trained students, who have a deep understanding of both the clinical features of these diseases and of their underlying molecular and cellular mechanisms.

While courses addressing specific issues related to age-related pathologies are already provided by the School of Medicine and by the University Life Science department, we intend to increase the level of education and training in this field by offering new courses to medical and science students as well as to professionals working in private companies.

Encouraging local scientific and medical students to graduate with a master degree in the field of age-related pathologies
Task Description
  1. Creating new Masterspecialty dedicated to age-related pathologies and taught by professors of the University Life Science department and clinicians from the School of Medicine will added to the Master of Life Science and Health already in place.
  2. Providing fellowship for selected medical students to follow Master courses provided by the Life Science Department.

Create an international professionally-oriented Master class course dedicated to biobank management (short courses open to private partners).

Create a Master 2 (Professional) on Biobank and Big Data Management (two years education program and training)

Task Title
Creation of an European M2 research-oriented master
Task Description

As a joint project between the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and the university of Cologne, education will be provided on biological basis of ageing in all its facets (molecular, cellular, genetic, organism, evolutionary and medical) in either the French or the German university.
